About the Artist | Breya Regier
Growing up in California has a perk of being surrounded by National Parks and Pacific Coast beaches. I was raised by artistic parents which meant many summers and breaks were spent coloring, creating, and staying busy with any medium that was handed to us. At an early age, my siblings and I were continuously exposed to various types of art which encouraged me to explore every kind of medium I could. I spent most of my adolescents daydreaming and drawing the most detailed and drapey gowns inspired from my many issues of fashion magazines. Thinking I would be the next ‘Elizabeth James’ I spent every moment lost in magazines, sketch pads, and color pencils - creating. I thought I would step away for a moment because of college, but adulthood came fast.
In 2018, I relocated to Portland, OR with my husband and our 2-year old, excited for the adventures that would await. Although, the adventure of a pandemic was not on our bingo card. Quarantine brought solitude and isolation. Unknowingly to me, those were seeds that yearned for paints and canvas to nurture. Endless days adventuring PNW forests and gardens, camping, hiking, and healing near waterfalls, all inspired my early artworks. After five years, my little family relocated back to Fresno, CA. Having reconnected with my love of creating art, my husband consistently encouraged me to dedicate time to the hobby. The more I painted and created - the more peace I felt, the more confident I became, and the more I began to take my artwork seriously. November 2025, I established a studio space in our home and an intention of making this a career.
April 2026, will forever be a life changing month because I took the advice of fellow artists to DO IT! I posted my artwork on Instagram, I became CEO of BR Atelier LLC, and created Breya Regier | Fine Arts website. I aim to keep the intention in motion and reach my next milestone of becoming a full-time artist before 2027. A big goal, I know, but gazing and reaching for the stars is my thing.
I will forever be entranced by the beauty and magic of fog blanketing beaches, cascading mountains, and deep valleys. Forever intrigued discovering patterns in nature, getting lost in the wind, and losing track of time as clouds migrate and change form while the sky chameleons like a mood ring. Forever trying to extend the memory or feeling of nature and the little luxuries in life through all my paintings. My artwork is created to stop people in their tracks, to escape the woes of the world, and take a deep breath into something beautiful, maybe familiar, and definitely unique.
